Last week Coast FM supported the Peel Soup Kitchen. The appeal was a success.
The crew from 97.3 Coast FM managed to succeed in Wade’s Wednesday challenge which was to fill the stations promotion vehicle the ‘Coast Cat’ with as many non-perishable goods as possible for the Peel Community Kitchen.
The Peel Community Kitchen aims to establish a permanent and sustainable drop-in centre for the homeless, socially isolated and financially disadvantaged of the Peel Region.
The morning turned out to be a huge success with numerous people from the Mandurah community kindly donating shopping bags full of non-perishable goods which will be put into emergency hampers for those in need.
The Coast crew broadcast live outside of the Peel Soup Kitchen where Wade helped serve hot meals for those in need while Ali was interviewing the volunteers and regular users of the kitchen.
Coast FM thanked the community for their generous donations, Woolworths Centro Mandurah, Harvey Fresh and the amazing volunteers at the Peel Community Kitchen who keep it up and running five days a week.
